Award Categories
There are seven categories available to celebrate and recognise WA volunteers. Nominations for the 2026 WA Volunteer of the Year Awards are now open.
WA Excellence in Volunteer Management
Presented in acknowledgment of a Volunteer Manager, salaried or non-salaried, who has demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership, and innovation in managing and delivering volunteer programs throughout 2025.

WA Inclusive Volunteering Award
Volunteering has a powerful impact when it is accessible to all; this award celebrates volunteering programs that have created inclusive cultures that reflect the diverse communities they serve and have improved participation from a greater range of community members.
This award recognises organisations that have made significant strides in promoting inclusivity, honouring their efforts in creating welcoming environments and broaden participation within their volunteer cohorts.

WA Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering
The WA Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering Award honours an exemplary individual who has volunteered for 20 years or more, and whose life-long contribution has significantly benefitted the Western Australian community over that time.

WA Young Volunteer of the Year
The WA Young Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates a young person aged 16 – 30 years old who has made an outstanding voluntary commitment throughout 2025 and who through their volunteering has positively impacted and inspired those around them.

WA Corporate Community Impact Award
Western Australia is national leader in corporate volunteering, with volunteer-based partnerships between corporate and not-for-profit organisations bringing substantial value to the community.
The 2026 WA Corporate Community Impact Award celebrates a volunteer-based partnership between a corporate and a not-for-profit organisation, where their alignment in values and goals delivers lasting impact for their communities.
Nominees will demonstrate the impact the volunteer-based activities have on both organisations, local communities, and employee wellbeing and morale.

WA Community Volunteer Organisation of the Year
The Community Volunteer Organisation of the Year Award celebrates a Western Australian volunteer-involving community organisation that achieves significant, lasting impact through effective volunteer engagement and programs, leading to positive change within their community.

RAC WA Volunteer of the Year
The RAC WA Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates an individual who has made an exemplary voluntary contribution throughout 2025, and has demonstrated a profound commitment to improving the lives of others through their volunteering efforts.
